RUSTON, La. - Erin Struemph got a pair of saves as Missouri State won two of its final three games in the Louisiana Tech Invitational.
Struemph (St. Elizabeth High School) got the first save Saturday as the Bears beat Arkansas Pine Bluff 5-2. She pitched the final inning and did not allow a run while giving up two hits and striking out one.
On Sunday, Struemph got another save as Missouri State beat the host school 9-2. She worked the last 12/3 innings and did not allow a hit or run while walking one. Four of the five outs she recorded came via strikeout.
Struemph is now 1-0 with the two saves in three appearances to start the year, posting a 3.36 ERA as the Bears have gone 4-1.
