Fatima outscored Battle by 9 in the final quarter to pull away for a 56-46 win in the Central Bank Shootout on Saturday at Rackers Fieldhouse in Jefferson City.
"I thought our kids played very smart tonight coming off a tough loss (to South Callaway) on Thursday," Fatima coach Ryan Robertson said. "I thought the energy was very good."
Nolan Huot led the Comets with 21 points, and Jared Schulte scored 13.
"Huot continues to be very consistent," Robertson said. "He also had nine rebounds, just an overall good game."
Fatima led 16-15 after one quarter and was up 32-26 at the half. But the Spartans cut the Comets' lead to 42-41 by the end of the third quarter.
"I thought our kids defended very well in the zone and didn't allow many easy looks," Robertson said. "Battle hit a few 3s, but overall we were very defensively solid."
Fatima (13-6) plays Tuesday at Eugene.
