Anunoby leads Jays past Bears

O.G. Anunoby finished with a game-high 38 points Saturday to lead the Jefferson City Jays to an 80-72 win against the Madison Prep Bears in the Central Bank Shootout at Rackers Fieldhouse.

Anunoby finished with 10 points in the first quarter, which ended with the Jays holding an 18-17 advantage. The senior then scored 11 in the second quarter as Jefferson City took a 35-26 lead into halftime.

Jefferson City stretched its lead to 56-42 heading into the final period. Madison Prep outscored Jefferson City 30-24 in the fourth quarter but got no closer than six points.

Seth Stegeman added 10 points for the Jays.

Daniel Farris finished with 29 points for Madison Prep, including 20 in the fourth quarter. Levi Stockard added 14 for the Bears (12-9).

Jefferson City (13-7), which has won eight of its last 10 games, will play Tuesday at Hickman.
