Lincoln's Hall honored

Jhevere Hall recorded two of the fastest times in the country last weekend and as a result was named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association's Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

The league office announced the honor, which was voted upon by a select panel of conference sports information directors, on Tuesday.

Competing against the No. 9-ranked Division II team in the country, Hall won two events at the Grand Valley State University Quad on Saturday in Allendale, Mich.

The native of St. Catherine, Jamaica, took the crown in the 800-meter in 2:10.84, the third-fastest time this season in NCAA Division II. That time is a provisional qualifier for the Division II Championships that is just shy of the automatic standard.

Hall also helped Lincoln win the 4x400-meter relay, teaming with Monique Thompson, Lovan Palmer and Willomena Williams to take the crown in 3:45.57, which is currently the fastest time in the country in Division II.

Hall becomes the third Lincoln athlete to be named MIAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week in 2014-15, joining teammates Yanique Ellington (Dec. 9) and Williams (Jan. 20).

Lincoln will be back in action Friday as the Blue Tigers will compete in the Tiger Invitational in Columbia. Lincoln is also expected to send some select athletes to the Meyo Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame on Friday and Saturday.
