Helias JV advances to tournament title game

The Helias Crusaders advanced to the title game in its junior varsity tournament Thursday with a 57-34 win against the Jefferson City Jays.

Landon Harrison paced the Crusaders with 18 points. Alex Brandt chipped in with 11.

Helias (10-5) will take on Rock Bridge, which beat Lebanon 51-50 in the other semifinal, for the title at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

J.T. Bohlken led Jefferson City with 15 points. The Jays will face Lebanon at 9 a.m. Saturday in the third-place game.

In the loser's bracket semifinals Thursday, Blair Oaks defeated Camdenton 66-54 and Fulton edged Battle 53-51.

Blair Oaks put three players in double figures in its win. Jason Rackers led the way with 18 points, while Tim Fick added 17 and Dylan Skinner had 14.

Blair Oaks is now 14-2 and the Falcons will play a regular-season game today at Battle.
