Central Motor Bank evacuated its staff Wednesday morning after a bomb threat. Employees returned after a search of the building failed to find anything suspicious.

Although Jefferson City police detectives are investigating and working with federal authorities on the matter, they have no reason to believe the threat was credible.

According to police, just after 11 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to Central Motor Bank on Madison Street after a call was received stating there was a bomb threat at the business.

Central Bank officials decided to have staff evacuate the building out of precaution.

Once evacuated, the Missouri Capitol Police's Explosive Detection K-9 responded to the scene and began a search of the building, which did not reveal anything suspicious and employees returned to their offices during the noon hour.
