Marcia Bradley opened her hair salon in Jefferson City at 711 Jefferson St. as a way to earn a living doing the work she loves.
"I'm a single mom, and financially, it's very hard sometimes to find the time to do the things that I love to do," she said. "I'm passionate about doing it - I'm always doing hair and also something else on the side to keep supporting my four kids."
Look Your Best salon opened Jan. 1, offering women's hairstyling services including cuts, extensions, up-dos and more. While Bradley, who has 27 years of experience as a hairstylist in Brooklyn, New York, is working solo right now, she plans to hire a barber for men's haircuts and an additional beautician to eventually add nail services.
Currently, the salon serves customers with appointments only, from Monday through Saturday. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call 230-2221.
