A Holts Summit manufacturing plant worker was taken to a Columbia hospital by a medivac helicopter late Thursday morning.

According to Scott Pasley with the Holts Summit Fire Protection District, a large heavy box fell on a Doolittle Trailer Manufacturing employee, but he was freed from under it by the time responders arrived.

Fire personnel, Callaway Ambulance responders and Holts Summit police prepared the injured for transport and established a landing zone University Hospital medical helicopter.
