Missouri man arrested in attack that killed man, hurt woman

MARBLE HILL, Mo. (AP) - Authorities say a suspect in a southeast Missouri attack that killed a man and critically injured a woman has been arrested after fleeing from deputies.

Bollinger County Sheriff Darin Shell said in a news release that a neighbor called Friday night to report the attack north of Marble Hill. Both victims had been stabbed and shot several times. They were taken to a hospital, where the man died and the woman was listed in critical condition. Their names weren't immediately released.

Shell says the suspect left in a pickup truck that later was spotted in Puxico. The chase ended after deputies used a tire-puncturing device to disable the Butler County man's vehicle. The suspect was arrested after a short foot pursuit and taken into custody. Charges are pending.
