WARDSVILLE - The Blair Oaks Falcons got two touchdowns apiece from three different players and had a fourth one score one while rolling to a 48-19 win against the Owensville Dutchmen on Friday night.

C.J. Closser, Jordan Hair and Jake Van Ronzelen had two touchdowns each and Cody Alexander had the final one as the Falcons improved to 2-0 with the victory at the Falcon Athletic Complex.

Closser got the first two of the game, with the initial one helping blunt a big momentum play for the Dutchmen.

For the second straight week, the Falcons gave up a score on their opponent's first possession. This week, Owensville scored on its third play from scrimmage, as Wyatt Ellis hit Devon Ridenhour with a 61-yard scoring pass.

But the momentum swung right back to Blair Oaks when Closser took the ensuing kickoff back 82 yards to tie the game at 7.

"I was happy for the kids that we were able to respond like we did," Blair Oaks coach Terry Walker said. "We'll learn from that and get better and keep right on moving."

That was the beginning of 20 unanswered points for Blair Oaks. The first quarter ended tied at 7, before the Falcons went up 20-7 thanks to a 17-yard scoring pass from Hair to Closser and a 3-yard run by Hair.

Owensville scored with 2:13 left in the half on a 7-yard run by Tristan Crofford to make it 20-13 at intermission.

Blair Oaks then got three unanswered scores to begin the second half, going up 42-13. Van Ronzelen and Alexander had touchdown runs of 4 yards and 1 yard, respectively, in the third quarter to put the Falcons ahead 36-13.

Then just six seconds into the fourth quarter, Hair hit paydirt on a 10-yard run to make it 42-13.

"I really feel like we have four, maybe five kids that can score at any time, which makes us dangerous," Walker said.

Crofford returned the kickoff 85 yards for a score to cut Blair Oaks' lead to 42-19, but the Falcons got the game's final score on a 31-yard run by Van Ronzelen.

Blair Oaks missed the 400-yard plateau of total offense by a single yard, as they carried the ball 66 times for 310 yards and completed 5-of-7 passes for 89. Alexander crossed the century mark for the second straight week, carrying the ball 19 times for 109 yards. Van Ronzelen just missed giving the Falcons two 100-yard rushers, as he ended up with 95 on 18 carries.

Owensville (0-2) completed 15-of-18 passes for 189 yards, but managed just 43 yards rushing on 26 attempts.

Blair Oaks (2-0) will host Eldon at 7 p.m. Friday.
