Earlier coverage:

On Wednesday at 11:43 p.m., Jefferson City police responded to the 800 block of Mulberry for a check well-being call.

According to the caller, there was an open door to a residence with a female resident inside, lying in a pool of blood.

Officers arrived shortly after the call and located the victim, who was barely conscious.

Through initial observations, it appeared that a struggle took place within the residence, and that the victim had been assaulted with a knife.

The victim was able to give officers information as to the suspect's identity prior to EMS arriving on scene, and it was determined she was struck, choked and then stabbed multiple times in her head prior to her transport to a local hospital.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim, an 18 year-old Jefferson City female, had a relationship with the suspect, and there was an apparent argument over the status of that relationship. She was transferred due to the extensive nature of her injuries to a hospital in Columbia.

The suspect in this case, Christopher L. Page, a 22 year-old male with Jefferson City and St. Louis ties, is still at large and sought by Police Detectives on a variety of charges based on the assault.
