Helias golf takes first at Old Kinderhook

CAMDENTON - The Helias Lady Crusaders claimed team honors while the Jefferson City Lady Jays were ninth Wednesday at the Camdenton Invitational at Old Kinderhook.

Helias finished with a team total of 338 to top the 17-team field. It is the first time the Lady Crusaders have ever won the Invitational.

Lauren Plunkett led the Lady Crusaders with a 75 to finish third overall. Ashten Lorts finished with an 86, while Luci Francka added an 88 and Alex Nelson totaled an 89. All four in the top 15 individuals.

Jefferson City finished with a team score of 406.

Blair Michael had an 89 to pace the Lady Jays. Ellie Severance finished with a 95 for Jefferson City, while Sammy Swinford had a 106 and Christa Kiesling had a 116.

Blue Springs was second in the team race with a 347, while Rock Bridge was third with a 355. Camdenton was fourth at 358, while Southern Boone was 17th at 483.

Julia Bower of Rock Bridge took medalist honors with a 69.

Mikala Jungmeyer of Russellville shot a 77 in the Invitational to tie for fourth.
