JC woman hurt in vehicle/pedestrian accident

A Jefferson City woman was treated for moderate injuries after being hit by a vehicle, Tuesday morning.

Police reports show the accident occurred at McCarty Street and Madison Street just before 8 a.m.

Kimberly Timmons, 24, was waiting to walk north at the intersection of Madison and McCarty in the crosswalk.

A vehicle driven by Cheryl Bishop, 60, Jefferson City, was going east on McCarty and stopped prior to Madison and was getting ready to turn.

Timmons started walking and Bishop began to turn, striking Timmons in the crosswalk.

Bishop had no reported injuries.
