Jays JV football beats McCluer North

The Jefferson City High School junior varsity football team began the season with a win Monday. The Jays defeated McCluer North at Adkins Stadium, 38-12.

Elijah Jackson had a touchdown on both sides of the ball for Jefferson City, one on a 10-yard run and another on a fumble recovery. Mason York also scored a touchdown on defense, returning an interception 40 yards for a touchdown.

Damarian Winston, Carson Ridgeway and Michael Ellinger also had touchdown runs, scoring from 15, 30 and 20 yards, respectively.

York hit two extra points, and Cain Carpenter added an interception.

The Jays' junior varsity (1-0) returns to action Monday at home against C.B.C.
