SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Tina Charles had 18 points, five rebounds and four assists to help the New York Liberty beat San Antonio 73-45 on Wednesday night for their first road victory over the Stars since 2011.

Earlier this season, the Liberty beat the Stars in New York to snap a six-game losing streak in the series.

Epiphanny Prince and Brittany Boyd added 10 points apiece for New York (17-7), which reached 17 wins in the fewest games in franchise history.

New York raced to a 24-12 first-quarter lead, outscoring the Stars 16-5 over the last 5 minutes. The Liberty scored the first 12 points of the second quarter, holding the Stars scoreless until Jayne Appel's jumper at the 3:34 mark. San Antonio scored six points in the second quarter and seven in the fourth.

Kayla McBride led San Antonio (7-19) with 11 points, all in the third quarter. The Stars were held to a season-low in points, matching Seattle for the fewest in the WNBA this season. San Antonio was playing without injured guard Danielle Robinson (ankle).

MYSTICS 79, LYNX 61

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Kara Lawson scored 20 points and the Washington Mystics beat the Minnesota Lynx 79-61 on Wednesday night.

The Mystics (15-9) have won consecutive game against the Lynx (18-8), and are tied with Indiana for second place in the Eastern Conference - two games behind New York. Minnesota has a 2 1/2 game-lead over Phoenix in the Western Conference.

Ivory Latta added 16 points, and Tayler Hill had 10 for Washington.

Minnesota's Maya Moore was held to two points in the first half. She finished with 10 points and is 14 points shy of the 3,000-point mark for her career. Sylvia Fowles scored 13 points, and Rebekkah Brunson had 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead Minnesota.

The Lynx used a 13-6 run to pull to 36-34 at halftime. Latta scored nine points in the third quarter, and her 3-pointer stretched the Mystics' lead to 70-52 with 7:24 remaining.
