The Cole County Commission could roll back the county's general fund levy for 2016.
At Tuesday's meeting, commissioners discussed setting the levy at 7.5 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
Last year, the commission rolled back the levy to 10 cents for each $100 of assessed property value.
Since 2009, commissioners have been reducing the rate because they promised a 60 percent rollback in tax collections in 2008 when voters approved a sales tax to pay for ambulance service operations.
The levy was at 33 cents in 2008.
Meanwhile, the commission is looking at raising the public works/road and bridge levy from an even 27 cents to 27.06 cents per $100 assessed valuation. This levy hasn't been raised since 2001.
A 27.06 levy could gain the county around $54,000 if all taxes are collected.
A public hearing and possible vote to set the levies is scheduled for Aug. 25.
