Man with drunken driving history arrested after fatal crash

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Authorities say a driver with a history of drunken driving convictions has been arrested after a fatal crash in south St. Louis County.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1NiPcX7) reports that the suspect hit a median wall several times late Wednesday on Interstate 270. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says his SUV was blocking traffic when 23-year-old motorcyclist Marko Knezevic crashed into it.

The patrol says Knezevic, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

The patrol says the SUV driver was arrested on suspicion of felony driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at the St. Louis County Jail and released pending charges.

The arrest is at least the fifth DWI for the SUV driver.
