One person arrested Wednesday morning after drug bust in JC

One person was arrested Wednesday morning after a drug bust in Jefferson City.

Theodoric Grigsby, 26, was taken into custody after members of the MUSTANG Drug Task Force, the Cole County Sheriff's Department and the Jefferson City Police Department served a search warrant around 8:30 a.m. at 600 State Street.

This search warrant was the result of an on-going MUSTANG investigation.

The following items were seized during the search warrant; a 22 caliber semiautomatic handgun, approximately one half gram of crack cocaine, digital scales, packaging material, approximately one ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

While executing the search warrant, a four-year-old girl was also found in the residence. The child was released to relatives and a hot-line call was placed to Department of Family Services personnel.

Grigsby had two active warrants; one from Cole County for property destruction and a traffic warrant from Jefferson City.

He was taken to the Cole County Jail and is now facing possible charges of distribution of a controlled substance near public housing and reckless endangerment of a child

Authorities said the investigation continues with potentially more charges and more arrests pending in this case.
