Two killed in wrecks

Two people were killed Monday in a pair of area accidents.

• According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Chevrolet 3500, driven eastbound by Dyllan S. Gilliam, 16, Salem, was attempting to cross Missouri 68 and entered the path of a 1998 Honda motorcycle, driven northbound by Gerhard A. Scheer, 73, Owensville. The Scheer vehicle struck the passenger side of the Gilliam vehicle.

Scheer was pronounced dead at Salem Memorial Hospital.

A passenger, Patricia L. Scheer, 73, Owensville, was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

• A Wentzville teenager was killed while walking on I-70 in Montgomery County early Monday morning around 3:25 a.m.

Highway Patrol reports show Gabriel Brommelhorst, 16, had been involved in a prior accident and had exited his vehicle when he walked into the path of a vehicle driven by Danielle Johnson, 27, Lake Ozark.

Brommelhorst was pronounced dead at the scene.

Johnson had no reported injuries.

• A Holts Summit man was treated for moderate injuries after a two-vehicle crash Monday in Callaway County.

Patrol reports show the accident occurred on County Road 370 at Old U.S. 54 around 12:14 p.m.

James Ives, 82, Holts Summit, was stopped at a stop sign on 370.

Rosellyn Otto, 33, St. Thomas, was turning left onto 370 from Old 54 and struck the front end of Ives' vehicle.

Otto had no reported injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
