Four injured in trio of wrecks

An Eldon man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday on Missouri 52 at Swaying Oaks Road in Miller County.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Toyota Tundra, driven westbound by William A. Laughlin, 47, Eldon, was attempting to make a left turn and was struck in the rear by a 2004 GMC Sierra, driven westbound by Cody D. Albertson, 24, Tuscumbia. The Laughlin vehicle then went off the road and struck a tree.

Laughlin was taken to Lake Regional Hospital.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

• A Russellville man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday on Missouri 32 east of Salem in Dent County.

The patrol reported 2013 International, driven eastbound by George L. Sternberg, 65, swerved to avoid a deer and traveled off the right side of the road and down an embankment. The vehicle then overturned.

Sternberg was taken to Salem Memorial Hospital.

He was wearing a seat belt.

• Two people were hurt in a one vehicle accident at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday at Route E and Wiegers Farms Lane in Osage County.

Patrol reports show William Zekus, 60, Lakeside, Oregon, was passing another vehicle when he began to weave, swerving to avoid the other vehicle.

Zekus went off the left side of the road and struck an embankment.

Zekus and his passenger, Barbara Simpson, 59, Belle, were both wearing seat belts and both were treated for moderate injuries.
