The final concert of the 79th season for the Jefferson City Symphony will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell Auditorium on the Lincoln University campus.

The concert will feature piano soloist Michelle Nam, who was selected from among several performers in the Jefferson City Symphony Concerto Competition, playing Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C.

Other pieces the 80-piece symphony will perform include Carmen Suite selections from No. 1 and 2 by Bizet and Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio Espagnol. This is the second season Patrick Clark has been conductor.

Symphony President Tom Higgins, who plays tympani, said the new leadership has inspired and challenged the adult and student musicians.

The 2015 recipients of the Wilson Award and the Woodman-Mansur Award will be announced.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. They're available at the Jefferson City Concert Association website, at Capital Music Company and at the door.
