The Jefferson City Jays defeated Hickman 8-1 in a dual Tuesday at Washington Park.
The Jays won five of the six singles matches - David Clausen 6-3, 7-5; Spencer Bone 7-5, 6-2; Dane Biesemeyer 7-6 (3 tiebreak), 6-2; Isaac Roling 6-0, 6-0; and Joey Mendez 6-0 ,6-0. Falling was David Steinmeyer 6-7 (5 tiebreak) 3-6.
The Jays swept the three doubles matches. Clausen and Biesemeyer won 8-4, while Bone and Roling were 8-2 winners. Steinmeyer and Karsten McMillan posted an 8-3 victory
The Jays (12-2) will compete Friday and Saturday at the Edwardsville Invitational in Edwardsville, Ill.
