Teen charged with selling drugs at Blair Oaks

A Cole County teenager has been charged with selling drugs at Blair Oaks High School in Wardsville.

Court documents show Grant Jurgensmeyer, 18, of 6818 Whippoorwill Court, is facing two counts of distribution of a controlled substance near a school and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

As of Friday, Jurgensmeyer was being held on $50,000 bond in the Cole County Jail.

A Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement shows Principal Gary Verslues searched Jurgensmeyer's backpack Thursday morning and found two pill bottles inside a potato chip can.

One bottle had a label that indicated it contained Tramadol, but no pills were inside.

Another bottle had a Cyclobenzaprine label.

When questioned, Jurgensmeyer admitted to taking one Tramadol pill himself during lunch at school on Wednesday and giving another pill to another student in one of the school bathrooms on Thursday because the student asked for one.

He said he gave the other pills away while he was out of school between lunch Wednesday and Thursday morning.
