College Golf: Lincoln at MIAA Championships

LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Lincoln men's golf team finished eighth among 11 teams at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Golf Championship, which ended Wednesday at Almavar Golf Course. The women's team finished last in the 10-team competition.

On the men's side, Lincoln shot a 964, edging out Missouri Southern (965), Nebraska-Kearney (973) and Fort Hays State (985). Central Missouri led the way with a 897, topping second-place Central Oklahoma by 27 strokes.

Austin Ruediger led Lincoln with a 237, tied for 17th overall. Drew Geritz shot a 240 (T21st), Blake Lammers shot a 242 (25th), and Cody Shaw shot a 245 (T33rd).

Central Oklahoma's Eric Kline was the medalist, shooting a 221 and beating Central Missouri's Travis Mays in a one-hole playoff.

In the women's competition, the Blue Tigers combined for a 1,138, 17 strokes behind ninth-place Southwest Baptist. Central Oklahoma finished first with a 934.

Sophia Pardalos led Lincoln with a 259, wrapped up by a team-best 89 on Wednesday. Lauren McHenry shot a 273, Mackenzie Wilson a 302 and Hanna Berendzen a 304. Pardalos' finish was god for 27th overall.

Central Oklahoma's Marla Souvannasing had the top overall score, a 228.
