Helias baseball falls to Rock Bridge

COLUMBIA - The Rock Bridge Bruins defeated the Helias Crusaders 6-5 on Monday.

After both teams scored twice in the first inning, Helias took a 3-2 lead with a run in the top of the fifth. Rock Bridge answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame.

Helias then scored twice in the sixth.

Alex Barton had three hits and three RBI for Helias, which finished with seven hits in the game.

Cole Donaldson took the loss for the Crusaders. He worked the first 41/3 innings, allowing five earned runs on eight hits, two walks and two hit-batters while striking out three. Kale Gerstner pitched the final 12/3 innings.

Helias (6-5) is scheduled to play today at Marshall.

In Monday's JV game, Matt Dampf had two hits and two RBI as Helias defeated Rock Bridge 5-4. Jake Bahr was the winning pitcher, with Noah Wisch getting the save.
