Paxton Welch of Columbia College has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Welch (Helias High School) had four wins and a save last week for the Cougars. The sophomore pitched 29 total innings, allowing just two earned runs She walked two and allowed 23 hits.
It's the second time this season Welch has earned the honor. For the season, Welch is 12-7 with four shutouts and a 2.50 ERA in 1172/3 innings.
