Five cars involved in collisions on U.S. 50

Four people were reported as injured in three crashes on Friday evening in Jefferson City.

Police report two people were hurt shortly after 5:15 p.m. when five cars crashed in the westbound lanes of U.S. 50, just east of Dix Road. Officers indicate the incident involved two separate crashes, which they continue to investigate, but they offered no immediate details about how the wrecks unfolded.

Each vehicle was occupied only by its driver. Police listed the drivers as: Chloe M. Keeran, 22; Lucas W. Slusser, 33; Patricia A. Sneller, 40; Brittany N. Lucas, 21; and Stephanie Pantaleo, 30, all of Jefferson City.

Keeran was transported by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, which police listed as minor. Lucas also received minor injuries.

All the drivers were wearing seatbelts except for Keeran, police said. The amount of damage to the vehicles ranged from major to extensive.

Westbound U.S. 50 was closed for approximately an hour following the wrecks.

In a separate two-car collision at South Country Club Drive and Leandra Lane shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, two children were hurt.

Police reported a car driven by Kaleb Davis, 16, Jefferson City, pulled into the intersection from a stop sign on Leandra and failed to yield the right of way to a car driven northbound on South Country Club by Brandon Mullins, 22, Jefferson City.

Two children, ages 7 and 9, in the back seat of Mullins' car were taken by ambulance to SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and later released.

Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt, police said.
