Blair Oaks baseball splits

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Blair Oaks split two games in the Columbia Tournament on Friday, falling 7-4 to Moberly and defeating Warrenton 4-0. The Falcons played both games at Rock Bridge.

Jacob Wilbers paced Blair Oaks at the plate against Moberly, racking up three of the Falcons' five hits and two RBI. The Falcons tied the game at 1-all in the third inning when Z Burns reached on an error and came around on two hits and an error. Moberly scored two runs in three of the next four innings, however, to take command.

Ryan Paschal started for the Falcons and went four innings. He allowed five runs - two earned - on five hits and four walks, striking out four.

Against Warrenton,Clayton Graessle turned a complete-game two-hitter, giving up one walk and striking out five.

The Falcons tallied eight hits with two apiece coming from Alec Sieg and Brent Heckemeyer. Sieg had three RBI and a run as well, and Heckemeyer crossed the plate twice.

Blair Oaks (6-11) plays at 10 a.m. today against Rock Bridge and at 3 p.m. against a team to be determined.
