Baseball: Falcons' C team takes two from Southern Boone

ASHLAND - The Blair Oaks C team defeated Southern Boone in two games Monday, topping the Eagles 7-3 and 16-8.

In the first game, Steven Drake got the win, pitching four innings of scoreless, two-hit ball. He walked two and struck out seven.

Tyler Gish allowed five hits, two runs - one earned - a walk and three strikeouts. Austin Veltrop allowed one unearned run on a walk and a strikeout.

At the plate, Gish had three hits and scored three runs. Veltrop had three hits and three RBI, and Nick Lock and Scott Farley each had two hits.

In the second game, Veltrop had three hits, four RBI and scored three runs. Jared Lootens knocked two hits, driving in a run and scoring three himself. Kaden Carlton had two hits and an RBI.

Hunter Herigon picked up the win in relief, throwing three innings of hitless ball. He struck out four and walked two.

Colton Hoelscher started the game, allowing seven hits, eight runs - five earned - two walks and striking out two.

Blair Oaks (2-6) hosts Jefferson City today.
