Missouri Gov. Nixon plans trade mission to Ireland, France

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon in June will head a trade mission to France and Ireland.

Spokesman Scott Holste said Monday that the details still are being hashed out, but part of the trip will include a visit to the Paris Air Show.

The Democratic governor also in 2013 attended the air show, a massive aerospace trade exhibition.

The visit is scheduled to start June 15 in Paris. Nixon and others will leave for Ireland on June 17 before the trip ends June 19.

Holste says economic development nonprofit the Hawthorne Foundation is paying for Nixon's expenses.

The trip is set to the governor's second visit to Europe this year. He traveled to Italy, Germany and Spain during a trade mission in late March.
