BizBeat: Former nightclub building gets reboot

If you've noticed a change in the 700 block of Madison Street over the past week, it likely has a lot to do with a fresh coat of red paint.

The building at 710 Madison St., next to the former location of Blattner Home Furnishings, most recently housed a nightclub called Club 573, which closed.

Steve Rollins, owner of Coleman Appliance Center at 108 Dunklin St., purchased the 710 Madison St. building a few weeks ago and has been remodeling it inside and out - most noticeably, repainting the exterior. He also plans to add exterior lighting as well as a storefront entrance on the side of the building facing Madison Street, as the building's only current storefront faces the back alley.

Rollins said he does not have any immediate plans for the building's use, but plans to market it as retail or office space in a couple of months, as well as use the rear portion of the building as warehouse space for Coleman Appliance Center.

Later, he also plans to renovate 6,500 square feet of space on the building's second floor.
