Jefferson City man charged in home burglary case

A Jefferson City man has been charged in connection with a March 25 burglary.

Christopher Ordway, 25, is charged with one count of second-degree burglary.

Tyler Cassady, 25, Elston, was previously charged with one count of second-degree burglary in this case.

Court documents state the burglary occurred in the 2000 block of West Main Street, which is the residence of a relative of Ordway.

The glass to the rear deck door was broken to gain entry. Two rifles, multiple Blu-Ray DVDs, a surround sound system and a laptop computer were taken.

Authorities were told the items taken were being stored at a storage unit in the 1900 block of Northwood Road. Ordway was spotted at the storage unit. According to police, Ordway said he placed the items from the burglary at the storage unit with items taken in another burglary. He also admitted to burglarizing other family members' homes, taking cash, laptop computers and other various military items.

Ordway has a previous conviction for second-degree robbery.
