Break-in at Doolittle Manufacturing under investigation

The Holts Summit Police Department is investigating a break-in at Doolittle Manufacturing on State Road AA.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the business at 8:37 a.m. Thursday after an employee called 911 to report the break-in.

While officers were responding, they were advised of a possible suspect vehicle stuck in a field near the business.

The vehicle was quickly located in the field, but no suspects were seen in the area. The registration plates on the vehicle were reported stolen from a different vehicle recovered Wednesday in Callaway County. Further investigation revealed the vehicle in the field was reported stolen from the Kansas City area on March 26.

The only description of the suspect is limited to that of a white male. Investigators are currently working to obtain video surveillance footage in hopes of obtaining a better description of the suspect or suspects.

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call the Callaway County CrimeStoppers at 592-2474.
