Softball: Lady Jays 15, Smith-Cotton 0

SEDALIA - Darby Brundage hit two home runs as the Jefferson City Lady Jays rolled to a 15-0 win in three innings Monday against Sedalia Smith-Cotton.

Jefferson City scored 12 runs in the first inning and cruised from there.

Brundage was 3-for-3 and drove in five runs, while Taylor Dey added a three-run home run for the Lady Jays, who finished with 14 hits.

Alyssa Schulte was 2-for-3 with two RBI, Gabi McGinty was 2-for-2 and drove in a run, and Alex Gilliland was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Megan Newton, Emily Williams and Krista Brickey all drove in one run for the Lady Jays.

Brickey allowed just two hits while picking up the win.

In the JV game, Jefferson City posted a 6-3 win.

Victoria Arcobasso was 2-for-3 for the Lady Jays and Nicole Bryan had a triple.

Hannah Kempker was the winning pitcher.
