LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 36-year-old Phoenix woman accused of throwing a shoe at Hillary Clinton while the former U.S. secretary of state addressed a Las Vegas audience has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor trespassing.
Alison Michelle Ernst also pleaded not guilty Monday to another misdemeanor charge of violence against a person in a restricted building.
A spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden said Thursday that Ernst is due to stand trial Oct. 29 on that charge.
Ernst was ruled fit for trial after a psychological exam sought by her lawyer, William Carrico, an assistant federal public defender.
Clinton was speaking on stage to a recycling conference at the Mandalay Bay resort when Ernst threw a soccer shoe past her.
Clinton flinched and ducked. She wasn't hit.
Authorities say Ernst wasn't a credentialed conference attendee.
