Pintos now at No. 2 in Class 3

The California Pintos moved up one spot in the latest edition of the Missouri high school football rankings released this morning.

California (5-0) is now No. 2 in Class 3 in voting by 15 media members from around the state after its 68-14 victory against Hallsville last Friday night. California will play at Southern Boone this Friday.

There was no other movement among area teams in the rankings.

The Helias Crusaders maintained their No. 2 spot in Class 4 after Saturday night's 29-14 victory against the Battle Spartans at Adkins Stadium. Helias (5-0) will play St. James Academy (3-0) on Friday night at Bishop Miege High School in Roeland Park, Kan.

The Blair Oaks Falcons (4-1) are No. 7 in Class 3 after beating Southern Boone 34-7 on Friday night. Blair Oaks will host School of the Osage for Homecoming this Friday. School of the Osage (5-0) received a vote in Class 3.

The South Callaway Bulldogs (5-0), coming off a 55-6 victory against Wright City, are No. 3 in Class 2. South Callaway will host North Callaway on Friday.

The No. 1 teams in all six classes remain unchanged - Lee's Summit West in Class 6, Fort Osage in Class 5, Webb City in Class 4, Maryville in Class 3, Lamar in Class 2 and Ste. Genevieve Valle in Class 1. The six received all 15 first-place votes in their respective classes.
