Lady Jays win at Blue Springs Invitational

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - The Jefferson City Lady Jays finished first while the Jays were third Saturday in the Blue Springs Invitational.

The Lady Jays topped the 10-team girls field with 47 points. Liberty North was second with 69.

Kenzie Gurley led Jefferson City by finishing second in 20:33.10. The Lady Jays had three other runners finish in the top 11 - Kaley Ruff in seventh, Tori Bonnot in eighth and Andi Stackman in 11th.

On the boys side, Jefferson City totaled 60 points in the 10-team event. Blue Springs was first with 44 points, two points better than Rockhurst.

Jackson Schwartz was Jefferson City's top finisher, taking fourth in 17:01.00. Saxon Teubner was seventh for Jefferson City.

Jefferson City took the junior varsity girls title with 39 points. Michaela Krause (22:18.1) and Lindsey Biesmeyer (22:19.4) were second and third, respectively, for the Lady Jays.

The Jays were second in the JV boys race with 58 points. Will Theroff finished seventh (19:02.90) to pace Jefferson City.
