The Lady Crusaders went 6-0 in their annual freshman volleyball tournament to capture the championship Saturday.
In pool play, Helias defeated Battle (25-14, 25-14) Rolla (25-13, 25-9) and Lebanon (25-21, 25-20) and earned the overall first seed.
In the first round of bracket play, Helias beat Camdenton 25-8, 25-13. In semifinals, the Lady Crusaders topped Blair Oaks 25-20, 23-25, 25-13. Helias beat Jefferson City 25-11, 24-26, 25-14 in the final.
In the tournament, Alyssa Sullivan had 54 service points (25 aces), 38 assists, 20 kills and 22 digs. Amie Henson had 41 assists, 15 kills and 24 digs. Grace Twehous had 21 kills and 17 digs, and Elisabeth Mealy contributed 46 service points (13 aces) and 66 digs. Kelsey Brester added 17 kills.
