One in custody after JC stabbing

A Jefferson City man is in custody after a non-fatal stabbing early Tuesday morning.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to 1409 E. McCarty Street for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival they contacted the victim and his girlfriend. The victim had been stabbed in the left arm and twice in the left torso. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to the girlfriend her ex-boyfriend came to the residence because he is upset that she has a new boyfriend. He cut the tires and broke the front windshield of the victims vehicle. He then confronted the victim on the front porch and began stabbing him. Officers searched the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful in locating him.

At approximately 12:00pm officers with the Community Action Team received information of the suspects whereabouts, they responded to this residence and took the suspect into custody without incident.

The suspect is Brandon Rapier, 24 year old Jefferson City resident.
