Lincoln finishes 16th

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - All five golfers for Lincoln improved their scores between rounds as the Blue Tigers finished 16th out of 17 teams Tuesday at the NSU Women's Classic.

Lincoln finished the two-day, two-round tournament with a team score of 743, beating 17th-place Southwest Baptist by 14 strokes.

The tournament, hosted by Northeastern State University at Cherokee Springs Golf Course, was the first of the season for the Blue Tigers.

Sophia Pardalos shot a 173 through two rounds to lead Lincoln. The senior finished her second round with an 86, one stroke better than her first-round score.

Mackenzie Wilson, who shot a 92 on Monday, fired an 88 in the second round to finish second for the Blue Tigers with a 180 total.

Lauren McHenry put together rounds of 98 and 91 to end the tournament with a 189, while Lincoln's two newcomers, Hanna Berendzen and Ciara Bazemore, finished with score of 201 and 252, respectively. Berendzen shot a 105 on Monday and a 96 on Tuesday, while Bazemore shot rounds of 133 and 119.

Central Oklahoma won the tournament with a team score of 604 to edge second-place Arkansas Tech by two strokes.

Northeastern State placed third at 624, while Missouri Western (629) and Southwestern Oklahoma State (632) rounded out the top-five schools.

Marla Souvannasing of Central Oklahoma and Megan Jeffery of Arkansas Tech both shot 3-over 147s to finish in a tie for first.
