The Discover Jefferson City Foundation will host its fourth annual fundraiser 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Warden's Home, 700 E. Capitol Ave.
The city Landmark home also is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The event this year coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Sept. 22, 1954, riot inside the Missouri State Penitentiary.
Tickets are $50 and includes heavy hors d' oeuvres from Prison Brews, beverages, music provided by Dirt Leg Benders, a history by Mark Schreiber, and a Marmaduke Home presentation from Jeff Schaeperkoetter and Jude Markway.
The mission of the Discover Jefferson City Foundation is to directly support, through financial or in-kind donations, the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau by providing education and information about the diverse cultural, historic, educational, scientific, civic, and athletic attractions and events available in Jefferson City.
The money raised from the event will go toward promoting the Missouri State Penitentiary tours and the bureau's other top-priority activities.
