California, South Callaway rise in state rankings

There was some movement among area teams in the Missouri state high school football poll released this morning.

The California Pintos and the South Callaway Bulldogs moved up one spot in their respective classes in rankings by 15 media members from around the state.

California (4-0) is now No. 3 in Class 3 after a 55-0 victory at home against the Eldon Mustangs. South Callaway (4-0) is No. 3 in Class 2 after beating Van-Far 82-14 last Friday.

The Helias Crusaders maintained their No. 2 spot in Class 4. Helias defeated Hickman 48-7 last Friday night in Columbia.

The Blair Oaks Falcons fell four spots to No. 7 in Class 3 after falling 42-28 to Hallsville last Friday night in Wardsville. Hallsville is just outside of the rankings in Class 2.

The School of the Osage Indians received one vote in the Class 3 poll again this week. School of the Osage edged Southern Boone 28-23 last Friday.

The top teams in each of the six classes remain the same in unanimous votes - Lee's Summit West in Class 6; Fort Osage in Class 5; Webb City in Class 4; Maryville in Class 3; Lamar in Class 2; and Ste. Genevieve Valle in Class 1.
