The St. Joseph Cathedral boys and girls cross country teams both earned second-place finishes on Setp. 9 at the first PAL meet at Cole County Park.
Jenson Starr won the boys race with a time of 9:19. Blake Bauer finished 7th (9:49), Peyton Wright was 15th (10:17), Will Kuster was 20th (10:28) and Blake Kirsch was 23rd (10.31).
Reese Hamilton led the girls teams with a 10th-place finish at 11:09. Josie Star was 12th (11:13), Maya Heckart was 15th (11:17), Pagie Allen was 18th (11:25) and Maricah Frank was 20th (11:29).
On Saturday, Jenson Starr won the boys race at the Linn Invitational with a time of 9:37.
On the girls side, Josie Starr finished 8th (11:43), Allen was 11th (12:06), Frank was 12th (12:08) and Avery Massman was 17th (12:33).
