Bliss to perform classic country tribute

The Jefferson City Concert Association will host A Classic Country Tribute with Gail Bliss at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Miller Center.

Bliss will lead audiences on a walk through yesteryear with her country music tributes, including such stars as Patsy Cline.

Bliss made a name for herself across the United States by her show, "A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline," which traced Cline's footsteps from her early honky-tonk days and radio fame through her rise at the Grand Ole Opry. It followed her triumphs at Carnegie Hall and in Las Vegas.

Cline, known for songs such as "She's Got You" and "Sweet Dreams," died in an airplane crash in 1963 while she was heading back to her family in Kansas City after a benefit concert.

Bliss' performance in Jefferson City will cover impressions of various artists in addition to Cline.

Ticket prices are $25 for adults and $15 for students.
