Four area teams remain in poll

A total of four area teams remain in the rankings in their respective classes in the latest Missouri high school football poll.

The Helias Crusaders continue to hold down the No. 2 spot in the Class 4 rankings. The Crusaders (3-0), coming off a 35-7 win at Bishop Althoff (Ill.), will play Friday in Columbia against the Hickman Kewpies.

The Blair Oaks Falcons and California Pintos maintain their No. 3-4 positions in Class 3.

Blair Oaks (3-0) defeated Eldon 28-6 last Saturday and will host Hallsville on Friday. California (3-0), which bested Versailles 51-14 last Saturday, will host Eldon on Friday.

The South Callaway Bulldogs (3-0) remain the No. 4 team in Class 2 after defeating Clopton/Elsberry 55-14 last Friday. The Bulldogs will host Van-Far on Friday.

One area team is among those receiving votes - School of the Osage in Class 3. The Indians (3-0) received one vote this week, the third Tri-County Conference school receiving mention in Class 3.

The No. 1 teams in the six classes are unanimous - Lee's Summit West in Class 6, Fort Osage in Class 5, Webb City in Class 4, Maryville in Class 3, Lamar in Class 2 and Valle Catholic in Class 1.

The poll is comprised of 15 media members from around the state. The News Tribune is one of the voters.
