Gunfire disrupts girls' soccer game in Ferguson; no one hurt

FERGUSON (AP) - Gunfire from a domestic disturbance has sparked panic at a nearby first-grade girls' soccer game in Ferguson.

No one was hurt, but parent and children were sent scurrying for cover. The gunshots erupted just after noon Saturday during a Catholic Youth Council event on the playing fields at the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta School.

The school's administrator, Adrienne Govero, said in an email that police confirmed that the shots came after a domestic violence dispute in a home across the street.

Police couldn't immediately be reached for comment. No other details about the shooting were immediately available.
