Ashland woman dies after accident

An Ashland woman, Opal L. Gresham, 88, died from injuries resulting from a Sept. 3 accident on Route A at Old U.S. 63 in Boone County.

Gresham was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Dallas W. Gresham, 81, that was struck in the side after failing to yield to a vehicle driven by Airiane M. Cairns.

Gresham was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Columbia.

• Two women were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 10:17 a.m. Thursday on Missouri 87 at Route C in Moniteau County.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Ford F150, driven eastbound by Betty M. Widner, 70, St. Joseph, ran through a stop sign and struck a 2014 Mack semi, driven northbound by Rickey L. Robinson, 56, Ankeny, Iowa.

Widner and a passenger, Bonnie J. Owens, 78, Versailles, were taken to St. Mary's Health Center.

Everyone was wearing seat belts.

• A Linn man was injured in a one-car accident at 5:20 p.m. Thursday on Route C, east of Frankenstein in Osage County.

The patrol reported a 1988 Chevrolet Silverado, driven eastbound by Clifford M. Deatsch, 54, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Deatsch was taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

He was not wearing a seat belt.
