Do we even have to worry about outsiders like ISIL damaging our nation when we have people in the federal government who are doing their best to do so from the inside? The insiders are destroying our economy with massive debt and frivolous spending?
According to a July 26, 2013 press release, issued by the University of Buffalo, the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) gave them a $715,500 grant "to develop and study a smartphone app that promotes exercise as a positive alternative to marijuana use." The federal government's checkbook is bleeding red ink, yet it continues its lunatic spending habits. They had to borrow the money to fund this study. All future generations will be saddled with interest payments on this debt.
If you were asked to approve a tax increase, an increase in your taxes, not someone else's taxes, to fund this study would you vote yes? I think most of us would vote no. If we were given a choice I think we would vote no on much of the spending done by politicians. They seem more interested in using our tax dollars as payoffs for votes to get re-elected, rather than in spending our tax dollars wisely.
The majority of those currently elected to federal office will never be satisfied, even if we let them take everything we have. Our only hope is that we can elect some true fiscal conservatives, and/or libertarians.
