ST. JAMES, Mo. - It took some time, but the Fatima Comets did it again.

The Comets trailed 1-0 early in their Class 2 District 10 Soccer Tournament final against the Sullivan Eagles before rebounding for a 4-2 victory.

"We came out a little tight," Fatima coach Kirby Keth said. "But once we got it into halftime tied at 1, we settled down and played a much better second half."

With the win, Fatima (18-7) advances to take on Southern Boone (24-2) in the sectional Tuesday night at Knights of Columbus Field in Westphalia. The tentative start time is 6 p.m. Southern Boone captured the District 9 title Wednesday night with a 4-0 victory against Boonville.

Fatima and Southern Boone did not play in the regular season after having a game called off twice due to wet conditions.

"Rain or shine, we're going to play," Keth said.

Evan Schulte had three goals for the Comets, while Caleb Bauer tallied the other score.

It is Fatima's fifth consecutive district title and seventh overall.

"Fatima has been very successful with the support of the parents and kids and hopefully we can keep it going," Keth said.
