Police: Suspect hid cocaine in potato chip bag

FORISTELL, Mo. (AP) - A Kentucky man is jailed in suburban St. Louis after police said they found nearly a kilogram of cocaine hidden in a Lay's potato chip bag in his car.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/ZXIS21) that 63-year-old Garry Russell Groves, of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, was arrested Friday night in Foristell. He was charged by the St. Charles County prosecutor with possessing a controlled substance with intent to distribute and remained held Wednesday on $100,000 cash-only bail.

Foristell police reported stopping Groves for running a red light and having a headlight out on his car. Police said they brought in a canine unit, and the dog alerted on a door and the trunk. Officers said they found the cocaine in a potato chip bag inside a duffel bag in the trunk.
